"Stewardship is an expression of discipleship. Disciples who practice stewardship recognize God as the source of all they have and are and will be. They know themselves to be recipients and caretakers of God's many gifts. They are grateful for what they have received and eager to cultivate their gifts out of love for God and one another."
(Stewardship: A Disciple's Response, Pastoral Letter of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops)

HOW TO DONATE TO SAINT TARS

  • Monthly donation envelope packets are mailed to registered paishioners. You may register at the rectory by meeting with one of the priests.

  • You may make regular monthly automatic donations using "Give Central". This service can direct a uniform monthly donation either from your bank account or credit card directly to us. You may sign up for this plan at https://www.givecentral.org/core.php?do=event_signup&key=GC-4d2410aeb3bbb. We encourage you to seriously consider this electronic giving option. You save checks. We save envelope mailing. You can still give to all collections. It’s a win-win situation!

  • Give a Memorial Gift in honor of a deceased loved one. This can be done through the Parish Office. Envelopes are also available at Malec and Colonial Funeral Homes.
At the time of a family member's death, if you would like memorials to be made to Saint Tarcissus Parish / School, please instruct the Funeral Home to use the following in the Death Notice: "In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift may be made to Saint Tarcissus Parish / School."

  • Remember someone with a Leaf on our Memorial Tree or a Plaque on our Memorial Boards in Church. The Memorial Tree is in place for those who would like to memorialize a loved one. We ask for a memorial donation in the amount of $500 for an inscription on each leaf on the tree. If you prefer, there are also the Memorial Boards on the entrance door walls of the vestibule. These plaques can only list one line. We ask for a memorial donation in the amount of $300 for each of these plaques. Anyone interested in memorializing a loved one in either of these locations is kindly asked call the parish office for more details. You may also memorialize or honor someone with a Brick in our new Prayer Garden. Please contact the rectory for details on either of the above options. See Our Parish / Parish Prayer Garden - Brick Sale for more information.

  • Have you ever considered honoring your parish when it comes time to make or amend your Will or to choose beneficiaries for your Life Insurance policies?
This is a wonderful way to leave a legacy and give a gift that will help to perpetuate the Catholic faith in our local Faith Community.
You may designate a specific dollar amount or allocate a percentage for the parish after you have remembered your family.
If you would like more information about how to make a gift through your will, please call the Archdiocese of Chicago Office of Planned Giving at 312-655-7848. They will give you details on how to ensure that your contribution is given specifically to our parish as you wish.
When using an attorney or other professional in making charitable gifts to the parish or school please insure that the gift has the following designation: “The Catholic Bishop of Chicago, a corporation sole, for benefit of St. Tarcissus Parish/School”. Additional information can be obtained by calling the Archdiocese Department of Stewardship and Development at 312-655-7848 or by visiting: www.archchicago.planyourlegacy.org/index.php.

  • Make a contribution to our School Education Endowment Fund. This Endowment was established to help ensure our capacity to educate our young people well into the future. Donations for the Endowment may be directed either to the School or Rectory Office.

  • Consider purchasing a Brick in our Parish Prayer Garden, which will be established in the Spring of 2008. These bricks can be donated in honor of someone or in memory of a deceased relative or friend. See Our Parish / Parish Prayer Garden - Brick Sale for more information.

2012 ARCHDIOCESAN ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL

Annual Catholic Appeal Brochure in Adobe Reader (pdf - 8,491 KB)

The Appeal supports both parish and Archdiocesan ministries. Among these are ministries that provide religious education to children, youth and adults. It is also one of the largest philanthropic sources of financial support for Catholic schools in the Archdiocese. The Appeal also funds services that are of great help to other ministries here in our parish. This year, the theme of the Appeal is: “Be Imitators of Christ”. We are all challenged to try to live our lives using the life of Christ as an example. Christ gave us the path to eternal life. His love for each of us cannot be taken lightly.

Please spend some time reflecting on the Annual Catholic Appeal brochure linked above. While funding a number of Archdiocesan ministries, the Appeal supports parish ministries that provide religious education to children, youth and adults in economically disadvantaged communities. It is also one of the largest philanthropic sources of financial assistance for Catholic schools in the Archdiocese.

As we contemplate His gifts to us, we should also reflect on our gratitude for these gifts. Your financial support for the work of our parish, of our Archdiocese and of the Church throughout the world is, in fact, one way to express this gratitude.

Please consider the materials that you will receive and give generously.

Please remember that the Annual Catholic Appeal campaign is much different than a one time special collection. It is a pledge campaign where you can make a gift payable in installments.

As you review the work enabled by your contribution to the Annual Catholic Appeal, please reflect on God’s gifts to you. He has given you all that you have. Your gifts to our parish, to the Archdiocese and to the work of the Church throughout the world are given in gratitude for the continuing gifts that God gives you.

Sometimes it is difficult to envision how one pledge can help an organization the size of our Archdiocese, how it can make a real difference. But each pledge does make a difference because all parishes participate in the campaign and the gifts of many enable our Archdiocese to deliver needed ministries and services.

Our combined gifts not only signify our gratitude to God, they fund a significant portion of the work of our Archdiocese. After our parish goal of $40,302 is reached in cash, 100% of the additional funds come back to our parish to help to fund our needs.

If you received your pledge form in the mail, please complete it and mail it back or bring it to Mass next weekend on Feburary 11 and 12. For those of you that did not receive a mailing or have not had time to respond to it, we will conduct our in-pew pledge process at all Masses next weekend on February 11 and 12.

Thank you for your prayerful consideration and generous response.
