School General - Cross Country Team in the Guerin Gator Run

On September 24th the Cross Country Team participated in the Guerin Gator Run at Schiller Woods. The JV girls placed second with Clare Mangan coming in 3rd overall and Kate McDonough finishing 9th. Rounding out the top 5 finishers were Fiona Kearns, Bridget McKenna and Niamh Ryan. For the JV boys team, Nick Bartuce was our top finisher in 9th, Ryan Hecker was a close 2nd in 10th place. Anlon McKinney, Zack Bartuce and Alex Composto all had strong finishes to help the team place 3rd overall.

The Varsity teams had strong finishes as well. On September 28th the team participated in the Loyola Lakefront Invitational which included 525 elementary kids from about 22 area schools. Our girls team placed 11th overall and the boys team placed 14th.

Congratulations to all the runners!

The cross country team with Ryan Hall who finished 1st in the US Olympic time trails and placed 10th in the Beijing Olympic marathon. He happened to be at the Lakefront on Saturday during our last meet and some of the team were able to meet him. Pictured are some members of our Cross Country Team with Ryan Hall.
