Pope Francis Global Academy is an exciting new faith-filled center of academic
excellence delivering a strong core curriculum presented through a global lens.
We offer Pre-K - 8th grade at two campuses on Chicago’s northwest side.

On October 4, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, pets were blessed at the North Campus
by Deacon Greg and at the South Campus by Father Elliott, with the help of Father Greg.

Students and parishioners brought pets of all sorts, including a WOLF (how appropriate!).
Students also learned more about St. Francis, his conversion of heart and the way God spoke to him,
saying, “Francis, repair my church.” Students learned like St. Francis, the patron of our namesake,
Pope Francis, cared not only for the people of God’s church, but for all of God’s creation,
as depicted in his prayer we know as “The Canticle of the Sun.”

Don’t forget that The Catacombs Haunted House is one of our school’s biggest fundraisers of the year.
Proceeds go to Pope Francis Global Academy and we need your support!
Please tell your friends, organize a group to go together, share the info on Facebook,
or put up some posters around your home! Remaining dates are:

Oct. 20, Oct. 21, Oct. 22, Oct. 26 ($5 night!), Oct. 27, Oct. 28 and Oct. 29!

All Veterans and their families are invited to join the school at Mass for a special honoring and for a reception following Mass. Please help us spread the word. All Vets are welcome regardless of which parish they are from or if they are from no parish at all. And, because these Masses are NOT on November 11, we hope to get many, many Vets to join us.

South Campus - Wednesday, November 8 at 8:30 am Mass
at St. Pascal Church and Reception to follow in Rm 100

North Campus - Monday, November 13 at 8:30 am Mass
at St. Tars Church and Reception to follow in the Auditorium

Father Elliott blessed a rosary for each Pope Francis student.
We will be praying the Rosary together on Fridays during October
and once a month thereafter on the first Friday of the month.

Box Tops for Education is a wonderful way for all families, parishioners, friends and neighbors to support our school! It’s easy to do and everyone’s efforts add up quickly. Everyone shops for groceries and many of us buy General Mills products regularly. Each product has a little pink BOX TOP$ logo, usually right on the top of the box, but sometimes on the front or side. If you tear that off and throw it into a jar or an envelope on your counter, then keep adding to that container until you’ve got 10, you will have raised $1 for our school! You will see NEW BOX TOP$ collection boxes at each of our founding parishes over the next week or so.

Please help us out by collecting and submitting your BOX TOP$ regularly. Last year we earned over $2,000 through this program alone! We’ve set a goal this year of $4,000! Help us reach that goal!

Do you have a love for reading?
Do you enjoy interacting with children?
Do you have some free time during the day?

If you answered yes to all three of these questions, than we would LOVE for you to
donate your time and talent in the children’s library at Pope Francis Global Academy!

If you are interested in volunteering,
please contact Margaret Kinel at mkinel@pfgacademy.org or 773-763-7080 for additional information.

Over the last couple of weeks, our students donated new and likenew books which will be distributed to kids in need through a small non-profit which has reached over 160,000 kids in need. Big Rig Books is the brain child of John Gervase, who runs the program with his wife, Kathleen. Our teacher Catholic Identity Team partnered with the St. Tarcissus St. Vincent DePaul group to arrange the drive at both campuses which collected two SUVs full of books!

Mrs. Toni Colletti of the St. Tars StVDP organization, and Mary Ellen Gold, one of our 2nd grade teachers, helped organize the event.

Our fall sports teams are out competing at local parks, fields and gyms, and can always use some extra cheering!

Visit our School Website to find a schedule for Soccer, Cross Country, Football and Girls Basketball! It’s in the Student Life Section under “Athletics”. - GO WOLVES!
