PARISH EVENT - VIRTUS TRAINING

Great Information for Parents of Children - VIRTUS - Protecting God’s Children for Adults

Every year several hundred adults receive VIRTUS training (Child Safety Training) here at St. Tarcissus. After every class parents come up and thank us for facilitating the class and giving them the information to help them protect their child or children. Many have said that every parent should take the VIRTUS class. We ’ve never had a single parent say that the class was a waste of time. Now is the time to sign-up for VIRTUS class if you have children under the age of 18. The class is required for every adult in the Archdiocese of Chicago that volunteers or works with children. This includes (but is not limited to) parent volunteers, teachers, coaches, catechists, school staff, and much more.

There will be a VIRTUS – Protecting God’s Children for Adults class here at St. Tarcissus on Saturday, August 25. You can sign-up for a session at the VIRTUS website (https://www.virtusonline.org). The class is free for adults (all costs are paid by the Archdiocese). This is the class that must be taken by any adult that works around children (paid or volunteer). Parents and adults need to sign-up online for a session. You should allow 3 hours for the class. You must be at the entire class to receive credit (no late entry or early leaving). No one under 18 years of age can be present during the class. VIRTUS classes here at St. Tarcissus are held in the Auditorium of the school building.
