Lectors

"The Lord God has given me a well-trained tongue that I might know how to speak to the weary a word
that will rouse them." - Isaiah 50:04

The above quotation sums up the Ministry of Lector. It is their function to proclaim the Word of God and, in the absence of a deacon, offer the prayers of the faithful.

Any member of the parish, in the third year of high school or older, may become a lector with the consent of the pastor. Lectors are expected to combine both faith and skill when they proclaim the Word.

A two-session training and orientation class is required for their ministry. Each lectors meet as a group during the year and are invited to attend periodic Archdiocesan workshops.
