Music Ministry - Parish Choir

The Parish Choir sings a variety of repertoire throughout the liturgical year. The Parish Choir sings repertoire from the rich heritage of the Catholic Church, from Gregorian chant to 21st century compositions, including the music of Chicago-based composers. In addition to learning liturgical repertoire, singers in the Parish Choir receive training in vocal technique, reading music, and singing in parts.

The Parish Choir rotates weekly between the various Sunday Masses. In addition, the Parish Choir sings feast days including Christmas Midnight Mass, the Triduum, and Pentecost. Rehearsals are usually on Wednesday nights from 7:30 to 9 pm in the Church.

Singers should have the ability to match pitch, sing with a group, and attend scheduled rehearsals and Masses. The ability to read music is a plus, but it is not necessary.
