Sacraments - First Reconciliation and First Communion

Preparation for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation is done in a manner that best suits the individual's situation in consultation with the Director of Religious Education. Our traditional program for First Reconciliation and First Communion takes place in the 2nd Grade. Candidates for Confirmation in the Parish School are confirmed in 7th Grade and candidates in the Religious Education Program are confirmed in 8th Grade.

All children must be baptized and have a minimum of two years of Religious Education before receiving the sacraments. Children who attend Saint Tarcissus School but are not baptized in the Roman Catholic Tradition do not participate in the sacraments. In other words, we welcome children of other denominations to use our school, but it should be understood that there is not to be an expectation of sacraments in the Roman Catholic Tradition.
