LUNCH POLICY

All students will remain at school during lunch. If a parent/guardian wishes to take his/her child out of school during the lunch period, the parent/guardian must come to the office and sign out the child. After lunch, the parent/guardian must also sign the child in. The child cannot be released early, that is, other that at his/her regular lunch time. Also, the child must return in time for the afternoon sessions. Under no circumstances may a student leave the playground area on his/her own. Attendance is taken after lunch.

CAFETERIA REGULATIONS

In order that lunchtime can be a time of relaxation for the children and pleasant for everyone concerned, we have specific expectations of children's behavior.

1. Children should talk in a conversational tone. Students are to remain seated until instructed to line up for food/milk, disposal of trash, and exiting times.

2. Crumbs, paper napkins and any other debris are to be cleared from tables, benches and floor before leaving the cafeteria.

3. Food trays and cans should be placed in proper containers by each student immediately after lunch.

4. Throwing food or fighting in the lunchroom will result in removal from the cafe and possible suspension from school.

5. A student must request permission to leave the cafeteria for lavatory uses and then report back to the supervisor upon returning to the lunchroom.

6. A teacher's note must verify permission for children to leave lunchroom for any reason.
