to the St. Tarcissus School Computer Lab
Students in
grades K-3 have computer once a week for 30 minutes.
Students in grades 4-6 have scheduled computer once week for 40 minutes. Students in grades 7 & 8 meet twice a week
for computers 80 minutes. The schedule is as follows:
3rd & 4th grade - Mondays - Rooms 201, 202, 203, 204
K, 6th, 7th & 8th grade – Tuesdays - Rooms 401, 402, 304, 306, 307, 207, 208
2nd, 5th, & 8th grade – Wednesdays - Rooms 103, 104, 301, 302, 208
1st, 4th, 7th & 8th grade – Thursdays, Rooms 105, 106, 203, 308, 207, 208, 209,
5th,
6th, 4th & 7th grades – Fridays, Rooms 301, 302, 304, 306, 307, 308,
K-2
students will be learning basic
computer terms, such as monitor, mouse, keyboard, and PC (Personal Computer).
The children will learn how to use the keyboard and mouse to navigate
their way through various software applications and reinforce math, reading,
phonics and eye and hand coordination.
Grades
3-4 will always review and
learn parts of the computer, beginning keyboarding, and various software
applications.
Grades
5-6 will continue to advance
their keyboarding skills, learn to use the Internet are a resource tool, and
reinforce and enhance their math, social studies, language arts and art skills
by working on various project with various software.
Grade 7-8 will continue to advance their keyboarding skills.
They will also be using a textbook called, Microsoft Office 2000
Professional. In this text book, it
will give the students the history of computers, basic knowledge of the PC, ways
to navigate, command codes, and various Microsoft applications such as, MS Word
(word processing), MS excel (spread sheets), MS Access (database), MS Power
Point (Presentations), and MS Publisher (Desk Top Publishing).
8th grade will also learning the inside parts of a computer
and their important functions. Each
student will have exercises, projects, quizzes and tests in each program in this
class.
